I am Bill Tighe, the founder of Trained-Rite Personal Defense…a former U.S. Army Airborne Ranger with foreign and domestic small arms expertise, U.S. Military Instructor Pilot, a Military Master Training Specialist, and International Independent Contractor for the U.S. State Department. I am a professional United States Concealed Carry Association and NRA Certified Instructor who takes great pride in providing quality personal and home defense training.
Available Courses
Handgun Training for Personal Defense / Nevada CCW Course
This course sets the foundation for all your future firearms training: whether it's handgun, rifle, or shotgun. Additionally, it qualifies you to apply for the Nevada CCW permit, if so desired. You will have one year from the course completion date to apply for your CCW permit.
Topics taught in this course include: basic firearm knowledge / the safe handling of firearms and ammunition...handgun shooting techniques and positions...the cleaning and care of firearms...storing and child proofing firearms...laws pertaining to the use of firearms in Nevada...conflict avoidance and controlling a violent confrontation...the use of force continuum...the use of deadly force, civil and criminal liability, range safety and etiquette...a firearms qualification course...a written exam (for those applying for the CCW permit).
This course is 8 hours in length. Student study handouts, the CCW application, coffee, tea, water, snacks, targets, and a certificate of completion are all provided. This course also includes a 269 page Student Handbook (Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals) a $35 value! The maximum number of students per class is 10 and the cost is $145 per person.
Nevada CCW Renewal Course
This course is 5 hours in length. Classroom / Shooting Simulator / and Live Fire...student handouts, the renewal application, coffee, tea, water, snacks, targets, and a certificate of completion are all provided. The maximum number of students per class is 10. The cost is $95 per person.
